As I explore the submissions on HopeActChange from members across America, I'm struck by the diversity I see - young, old, white, black, Latino, Asian, Indian, rural, urban - as well as the commitment to positive change. I see people taking risks, moving outside their comfort zones, sharing their voice, their stories with the world - about what is important to them, about dreaming up a world suitable for their children and grandchildren, and then acting on that dream to make it a reality. I see people making connections with one another, lending a hand, offering a piece of themselves to inspire others.
Sen. Obama has clearly touched something deep inside millions of people across America that has spurred them to act. It inspired the creation of this website and as it grows, so does our ability to join together and affect real change. The campaign has been hard fought and exhausting and will continue to be. But in the end, we all know that true change doesn't just come from our leaders. It comes from us. Each of us must be willing to do our part, even if we don't know how we are going to do it. The only thing that is required is the willingness to try. Working together, we can heal this nation. Working together, we can heal ourselves. We welcome your stories. What kind of America do you want to see? What will you do today to inspire another? Thanks to all who are spreading the word.
